PROMAX 6000 - F
WATER-BASED
HOT STEEL FORGING MOLD-RELEASING AGENT
Definition
PROMAX 6000 F is
a pale-colored solution and is used more perfectly in place of
graphite-based mold-releasing agents in steel forming in hot and
semi-hot molds. It does not produce odor and vapor, and it is not sticky. It is absolutely non-carcinogenic.
FEATURES
This
product is easily water-soluble. When the prepared solution is sprayed
into the mold after the upper and lower halves of the forging mold is
cleaned with pressurized air, a thin, soft and powder-like white
coating is left after the evaporation of its water content and
afterwards, this coating completely disappears. This coating has
superior releasing and lubricating features to graphite. Since it
contains no pigment, the product works well whether it is concentrated
or thinned. It can be used much more effectively at every point where
the graphite-based oil is used. These features prolong the mold life
and provide energy saving with a significant decrease in the number of
punching.
BENEFITS OF PROMAX 6000 F
IN HOT STEEL FORGING
- Since it is water-based, it never produces odor or vapor, and it is not flammable.
- Scales in the mold never stick to the mold.
- Before changing the mold, mold inside is easily discharged.
- It has no side effect detrimental to human health. (Non-carcinogenic!)
- Extremely
simple and practical to use. It is used by adding 1:9 to 1:30 water
(depending on the physical structure and weight of the part to be
forged).
- Unit cost is lower than that of the graphite-based oils.
- It eliminates the influence of the graphite dust and vapor on the precision systems.
- ISO 9002 certified.
APPLICATIONS
PROMAX 6000 F can be applied in both automatic and manual spraying systems with the opportunity of air/product ratio adjustment.
It is produced so as to prevent deposits in and blocking of the
spraying orifice during inevitable interruptions due to mold changing
or other reasons. Small deposits that can be formed at the end of long
interruptions can be thinned again by using water or fresh product.
This significant feature prevents hard-to-remove, solidified deposits
to be formed on the mold parts.
PREPARATION METHOD
PROMAX 6000 F is a
concentrate (essence) that should be dissolved in water. We recommend
you to thin the product as specified below before using:
- Put Promax 6000 F to be thinned into a clean container.
- Add
water (1:3) to the concentrate until the desired consistency is
achieved and stir until a good homogeneity is obtained. PROMAX 6000 F
is easily soluble in water and this process needs only a few minutes.
MIXING RATIOS
In Hot Forging:
It
can be used with automatic mixers used for emulsions or can be used
manually. In this case, the concentrate is drawn directly from the box.
The concentrates to be used vary with the degree of punching difficulty
and the type of alloy as well as the temperatures, weights and sizes of
the part and mold. It is recommended to start with 10 units of water to
one unit of product (approximately 9%) and it is necessary to adjust
the level of thinning. The parts which are more difficult to punch can
require higher concentrations. However, 30 units of water for one unit
of PROMAX 6000 F is sufficient (3-4%) for normal works that is quite easy.
Note: We recommend you to shake the packaging thoroughly each time before taking the concentrated product.
